Mitt Romney: Incrementalist -- and Imperialist?
Mitt Romney seems to have fine personal qualities. And although he doesn't make this point as well as he might, his view that incremental improvements in the economic climate and conditions may be enough to substantially increase the rate of economic growth in America may be correct: little steps may eventually add up to a big step. (In any event, given debt and deficit levels in America, incrementalism in economic policy greatlymay be the only feasible option.) But Romney seems to be an uncompromising military hawk. This troubles me. Obama is already too hawkish. More hawkishness -- more American wars around the world -- could spell even greater disaster -- notably, for the world, as well as for America.
